ownership:I have experience with this lens
compared to:Canon KIT 18-55, Canon 17-40, KM 50/1.7 and KM 28/2.8
price paid:
positive:It sharp at 18mm
And its cheep
negative:At 70mm the sharpness is really poor
comment:The main risen why I bought the 5D (and not the 7D) - it’s the KIT lens

It sharp at 18mm!
But at 70 mm it’s really fussy –I really did not expect that!
But overall I’m happy whit the lens the AF speed is acceptable
