positive:Cheap as part of the 5D kit, excellent focal length range for walk-around lens, excellent images for the price (a great value)
negative:Sloooow, small focus ring, noisy focusing, lack of sharpness at wide apertures
comment:Good for those just starting out in DSLRs, but not a piece of glass to stick with long-term if photography is a significant hobby.
