ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma 10-20mm f4.5-5.6
Sony 30mm and 50mm macro lenses
Lots of primes from 28mm upwards.
SEL1650PZ
SEL1855
SAL1855
etc.
price paid:£149
positive:Small size
fast aperture f2.
Good MFD.
does almost everything well
Nice handling and controls

negative:Filter size is a bit large at 67mm
My copy is a little soft down the rhs at full aperture and infinity focus.
Some CA and PF visible under 100% crops at full aperture.
No AF, so don't forget to focus!
comment:What a brilliant lens! Pretty compact - the 67mm filter thread makes it a bit wider than necessary at the end but otherwise its fairly dinky.
Fast aperture makes it an excellent choice for caves and interiors.
Does a good job with wide-angle macro, and the f2 aperture allows you to push the background out of focus.
On APS-C is a pretty good FL for single-shot panoramas, wide views, and sky scenes. F2 is good for astro and very little coma. softness on rhs isn't usually a problem but when using it in portrait orientation I turn the camera clockwise.
