ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Voigtlander 1.7/35 Ultron
Carl Zeiss Loxia 2/35
Konica Hexanon 1.4/35
Nikon 1.4/35 Ais
price paid:175 euro secondhand
positive:Sharp wide open where it matters most.
Smooth focusring
High image quality for low price
negative:Heavy & large size for a 35mm lens. But compaired to smilair 1.4 lenses of other brands sort of the same so a neutral negative?
Need to stop down quite a bit to get that corners sharp.
Flare give smears through the whole image.
comment:If you you don't mind it's weight & size surely a lens that will give you the rendering & sharpness you're looking for in a 35mm 1.4 lens. Obviously it's manual focus only. It's colours & contrast not up to the quality of my Zeiss or Voigtlander 35mm. Best bang for buck for a 1.4 lens.
