comment: | Another completed Greentoe offer. Just before this lens was announced I had ordered the Kipon 75mm F2.4 for $230 from an international eBay seller, but decided to cancel it because of Covid-19. The Kipon and the SLR Magic 75mm F1.4 have been available from big American retailers for $300. There is a slightly more expensive 7Artisans 75mm F1.25 available for M-mount. Leica has offered a range of 75 mm primes for their rangefinders. "MADE IN KOREA" This lens fits very nicely on the A6000. It seems designed for minimal size and weight. The deep but narrow petal hood feels very flimsy. It does reverse with little clearance. The body is light fiber-reinforced polycarbonate. It doesn't bend like the softer plastics used by Sony and Tamron. On full-frame it acts like a 50mm F1.2 on APS-C, but it is smaller and much lighter than their manual focus APS-C 50mm F1.2. Out-of-focus backgrounds are busier than the 45/1.8 or the Sony 85/1.8. The foreground bokeh is very smooth--seemingly an odd setup for a portrait lens. This is typical for overcorrected spherical aberration. It is considerably wider than the Sony which is wide for an 85 mm. It matches most 75 mm zoom ends at infinity. The angle-of-view decreases some with close focus. The breathing is very reduced from a unit focusing prime like the Kipon Iberit. It has less axial CA than the Sigma 65mm F3 and 90mm F2.8 DN or Iberit 75mm F2.4. |
