comment: | This was another purchase from an individual listing on Fred Miranda forum. Samyang has recently announced a revised version of this lens which is slightly smaller and lighter. "MADE IN KOREA" It is very similar in design to their native AF 50 mm and 35 mm F1.4 primes. It has dual linear ultrasonic motors just like the earlier 35 mm lens. It seems to be their first E-mount lens to have weather sealing. The plastic focus grip and filter threads are the low points in the design. Overall performance is very good. Despite some misalignment which shows wide-open, it is sharper than any of the 85mm F1.8 primes. It has much less axial chromatic aberration than the Sony FE 85mm F1.8. The corners have more issues wide-open. |
