positive: | Best value fisheye lens Great build for price Fun to use |
negative: | Soft at f3.5 (not ideal in low light) |
comment: | Rented the lens for a week and tried it with a few of my normal shoots. Being a fully manual lens is not a problem, especially on the A77 where focus peaking confirms your focus. Stopping down it's very much a 'set and forget' lens. Very well suited for outdoor shooting. I found it was less suited for low light work. I shoot a lot of live music where the distortion can make some interesting shots. The lens is a little soft at f3.5 and sometimes that's not enough to freeze any action. My Tokina 11-16 2.8 is a bit more flexible for that sort of shooting. |
