Samyang T-S 24mm F3.5 ED AS UMC A-mount lens review by qwz
|qwz#11368 date: Oct-6-2013|
flare control: 3
|ownership:||I own this lens|
|compared to:||Sony ZA Carl Zeiss Distagon 2/24mm|
Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6
Sony 20mm F2.8
Various medium and large format lens on film.
|price paid:||1050 USD|
|positive:||Tilts & shifts, really nice colours.|
|negative:||Vertical shift (Rise) on horizontal frame is limited by pentaprism of my Alpha 900 - only 9,5mm possible, not 12mm.|
Diagonal shift is possible on any body ONLY top-right or down-left due lack of CCV 90 degreee rotation (THEY FORGOT TO IMPLEMENT IT but announce in press-releases full +/-90 degree rotation - shame, shame, shame)!
Backlight can destroy local contrast easily but in-frame light sources looks pretty nice (even the sun).
Distortion is correctable (tricky when shifted - only C1 Pro can do this) but present.
Sharpness is ok w/o shift. On 36mp is no reason to shift more than 6mm due softness and CAs.
|comment:||Tilts & shifts - only wide T-S option for A-mount.|
