ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:- Konica Minolta 17-35mm f/2.8-4 D
- Minolta 20mm f/2.8 RS
- Sony 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6
price paid:
positive:- 12mm
- mild distortion for an UWA lens
- well built
negative:- easily flared
- heavy vignetting (12mm on APSC) w/ ring-like hood mounted
comment:This is definitely a special lens. 12mm is already crazily wide on APSC (18mm equivalent), imagine what you can do with it on FF!

The Sigma 12-24 gets all the common cons of a UWA zoom lens and is not the sharpest in this category. But it goes to 12mm,! Distortion control is very good, so is build quality.
