negative:Some slight PF at larger apertures especially between 18 - 50.
comment:A very sharp lens. Even at 125mm my copy is really sharp, and is as good as many of the older Minolta zooms covering similar focal lengths (BUT not talking G glass here).

Very similar in IQ to the Sony 16-105 and if you prefer the longer reach to the additional width, a very good alternative.

Much better than the Tamron 18-200 at all similar focal lengths and aperures (but it should be for the additional cost (new).

The AF is so quiet that at first I thought it wasn't working

The Tamron 20-40 is better but obviously much more linited.

I would rate this lens better than the kit lens between 18-55 but once again there is a hefty cost premium for the slightly better IQ and extra range.

Definitely buy this lens again.
