comment: | Bought this lens on eBay because I wanted a lower-light capable lens but still wanted the wide-angle capabilities, and haven't been disappointed. I have used it both on my Sony a380 and on my Minolta Maxxum bodies; color is excellent, and at 18mm it is much sharper than any of the Sony lenses I have had. The only problem I have had is with flare, have had to use my hand to block the sun even when using the OEM lens hood. Overall, a great companion lens for use with my 50mm 1.7 and 70-210 Beercan lenses, especially for the price. Update: compared this with the Minolta 28mm 2.8, both lenses @ 28mm f:4.5 with flash, and surprisingly this blows away the Minolta for sharpness & color. |
