ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma 20mm f1.8
Min. 24mm f2.8
Min. 17-35mm G
price paid:$220 USD
positive:Sharpness is adequate wide open and acceptable by f4.5. Very good at f8 & above. DOF is very good, as with most wide angles.
Color is accurate. AF is quick and relatively accurate. My copy does not require any micro focus adjustment.
negative:Barrel distortion. I'm not a fan of it unless I'm shooting with my Min. 16mm fish eye. Then it's fun. The distortion is correctable in post processing, but just barely. Interestingly it is not really noticeable unless your image has a lot of horizontal lines.
The Sigma lens hood produces noticeable vignetting. I've seen this before on dedicated hoods. I don't understand why this is done.
comment:This lens falls short of all of the comparison lenses listed. I really don't use it often. I will probably make it available on EvilBay.
