positive:More compact than it's brother the 24 70mm ex dg macro. Does not extend as far when zooming. Silent and locks to focus every time. Sharp across the range.
negative:The hood is flimsy, only negative I can find.
comment:This lens does not disappoint. Locks to focus every time, quick and silent. Appears to be sharp edge to edge at all focal lengths. The build quality is superb and it is a less intimidating lens than it's brother the 24 70mm ex dg macro. When attached to the A700 balance is excellent. It is an outstanding performer all round.
