comment:Compared to the 28-75, it feels a bit more solid. When it comes to sharpness, they are very similar. Both are very sharp stopped down, and produce usable images wide open. The Sigma is a bit heavy for my 5D, which knocks the combo slightly out of balance.

F2.8 performance:
At 28 mm the Sigma is excellent, noticeably better than the KM, while the latter is better on the tele side. The Sigma stays really impressive all the way through 50 mm, but at 60-70 mm, it becomes less brilliant. The 70 mm 2.8 shots will require some post processing if you want to make large prints, but given the price, that is a pretty reasonable compromise in my opinion.

F8 performance:
Very good. I don’t imagine you can get more detail out of a 6 mp sensor.
