comment:I bid too much on this used lens on eBay. Sigma's retail price is $339. The lens did at least include all of the original packaging. "MADE IN JAPAN"

The barrel distortion is quite noticeable as is the axial chromatic aberration.

This lens has a directional glow on hard edges much like the older Sigma EX primes probably indicating an alignment issue. The corners are also very uneven with the top right being the worst. The little 30mm F2.8 DN Art lens has much better image quality.

PDAF points outside of the center on the A6000 do function in AF-C at least with the lens wide-open. Stop down any amount and points on the edges stop functioning.

positive:Very sharp for the money, also very fast in terms of both aperture and transmission/adsorption. Build quality is amazing and the focus ring is super smooth. Good contrast and flare control.
negative:Barrel distortion and some CA at the edges, both fixable in post. Only stops down to f/16, so DoF when shooting up close is always shallow. Consider bringing along an ND filter, too.
comment:Overall I'm very satisfied with this lens. If you're looking for a good walkaround lens it's difficult to beat. The size of the lens is large on a mirrorless body, but it balances well in the hand and doesn't feel bulky. AF makes some knocking noises when jumping around, but it's still rather quiet.

compared to:SEL 35/1.8 OSS
price paid:1500PLN/340USD
positive:- sharpness
- CA control
- built quality
- AF
- f/1.4
negative:- relatively big
- no stabilization
comment:Pretty decent lens especially if you consider price/IQ ratio. It was too big for my purposes (I went into E-mount for small size - Sigma 30/1.4 is bigger than 35/1.8) and doesn't have OSS (useful in certain cases). Otherwise - this lens is a no-brainer. Pretty nice IQ, f:1.4 and the price make it a great lens, especially in the e-mount system. Beats SEL 35/1.8 in most aspects.

positive:great sharpness even at f1.4
nice bokeh when the subject is close
build
negative:flare
distortion (the latest LR has lens profile to correct it)
comment:For the price, it is a great lens.Solid build, great sharpness, nice bokeh when focusing close. With distant objects, it's not so great, but acceptable. Flare can be an issue.
AF is less accurate as a Sony lens, but it is a third party lens, so it is not a suprise.
