positive: | very sharp even at f1.4 good build quality compact size fast end silent AF |
negative: | chromatic aberrations weight |
comment: | This is a nice upgrade from the legendary Minolta AF 28mm f2. The lens ist very sharp wide open, and the HSM AF is fast and acurate. The only downside are the heavy chromatic aberrations, but this is correctable in post processing. Highly recommended. |

positive: | Build solidly in a hand Sharpness is good at 1.4 Hood is tight Flare control is really awesome! Price |
negative: | Weight and size Purple fringing alert! |
comment: | The cheapest in Sigma ART line I think, you won't regret it, Flare is nowhere or not a problem at all Sharpness is great you can shoot at any aperture Weight and size can be noticeable comparing with Minolta or Sony prime lens at these focal length CA is a big problem, still appear even at 2.8, this can be real downside if you only shoot jpg |
