comment:I knew what I was getting in myself, so the weight was something I would have to live with...after two weeks of using this lens quite a bit I am still blown by the sharpness even wide open at 1.2 - it only slightly improves by stopping down.
I am not an extreme pixel peeper, but the first shots were impressive.
Usually I am not that super positive as I want some room for improving my capabilities to the lens but this piece is spot on from the beginning. I know, I could have gotten two 35/1.4 for this 35/1.2 but I am happy for what I got.
The views are a bit clinical from the lens, they are not as warm as I have that from my Leica lenses, but that is something I could correct in the post processing. But I decided to leave them how they are...
Sharpness: Excellent.
Color Very good to Excellent.
Built: You can use it as self defense tool if really required... just kidding, very solid rugged feeling, the lens stop remembers me on Sony G-Master style...
Distorsion: No lateral or sagittal distorsion, barrel distorsion.
It hurts myself, but this copy is better than my Leica 35 Summicron asph.
A lens I truly can recommend to E-Mount photographers, but try out the lens beforehand so that you can decide if you can live with the noticeable weight...
