positive: | Shaprness wide open in centre & middle of the frame. Few clicks on the aperture makes it very sharp even into the extreme corners. Colours have plenty contrast, like my loxia 2.8/21. Build of the lens is great, mix between Loxia & modern Voigtlander Great fit for A7iii body |
negative: | In more difficult lighting conditions (backlit) the lens struggles a bit to keep colours neutral/pleasant, more so then my loxia & voigtlander lenses. Sunhood a bit big & feels a bit awkward when using manual focus Distortion should be 4,5 rating. Good for 35mm but it's noticeable (no lens profile for RAW yet) |
comment: | Somehow this lens takes the best part of all lenses above mentioned. Sharpness & redering like the Voigtlander 1.7/35 wide open, contrast & build like the Zeiss ZA, AF & size of the Sony 1.8/35. That is a lot for a smallish lens. now sold; the 35GM has taken it's place in my bag. Still, for the money this lens almost equals the GM; par the f/1.4 speed. |
