positive:Between 35 and 50
CA control
Tuned for IQ
negative:Size and weight
comment:It is very, very heavy and bulky for a 40mm. That's the only issue.

IQ is great in all regards. I find the Bokeh OK. Sharpness and CA control is why I use it most of the time instead of the 35 and the 50, if I don't mind the weight. Yes, it is neither a 35 nor a 50 but that works fine with me since I can take a step back most of them time and if want to take a wide landscape view, I pick a different lens.

It is a monster like the 105. AF should get the job done most of the time.

The Sigma 1.2/35 is said to be in the same league but at a different price point.

comment:Another of Sigma's excellent art lenses.

Superb image quality.

The only real problem with this is that it is overly heavy and possibly a bit front heavy.

This is an issue if you want to carry it all day. If you can cope with the weight, then the images you get are extremely sharp.
