build like tank and weights like one
negative:AF requires some attention and patience, but even with TC (1.4X) acceptable in enough light
comment:I use the lens mainly shooting in nature (birds, even in flight).
I hate changing lenses walking around, I love the 50-500 range for that reason. I use the Bigma with monopod mostly, that makes it a fine lens for me.

Only in bad light conditions (it hunts and hunts and...)I change it for other lenses.
For me, in the end even the weight is no problem, balancing it to versatility
I set flare control to 5 since I didn't have any problems with it (shooting very early in the morning)
Each Euro was well spent buying this lens.

The beast is absolutely no competition for the SONY-G's. At the long end and for versatility it is still acceptable
