positive: | Small, light, good pictures, fast focus lock, well made. |
negative: | Filter rotates when focusing. |
comment: | For the price I paid (Ł35.00 S/H but looks new, complete in the box delivered from Ebay)I cannot fault it. It is a small & light lens with a useful range. For anyone with the kit lens on a tight budget, this is definitely worth looking at. It compliments the kit lens very well, and is very similar in size/weight and picture quality. |

comment: | I wanted a general walkabout lens for my A100. Read about this budget zoom lens and found a new example on eBay. After testing it, I found it to be a really decent little performer in all departments. Not exceptional, though competent. No real major bad points. Images are clean. As with the 70-300mm Sigma, the AF can 'hunt' a little at times. The zoom is fast enough and the Bokeh is also nice. Colours can be a little 'contrasty', but adjustable in pp. I like it . . surprisingly . . and for the money paid (a bargain), fits my requirements perfectly. Maybe a little hidden gem! http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lenses/dclenses/55-200mm.htm http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/lenses_all_details.asp?id=3288&navigator=6 |
