positive:This lens is seriously sharp. It's even sharper than the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens, which DxOMark listed as the sharpest lens for the system. Even wide open, this lens is highly detailed. Bokeh fades away nicely, with almost no onion-ringing. AF is almost dead silent; I had to put my ear up to the lens to hear it.
negative:The pincushion distortion on this lens is quite heavy. Of course, you have lens profiles to correct this, but it's crazy how much there is pre-profile. Flare resistance seems to be decent, but nothing amazing. The aperture motor is strangely loud, making audible clicking noises when changing.
comment:Overall, this lens punches well above its weight for the purpose it's intended for- portraits. The distortion is quite high, but manageable with the built-in corrections and profiles in Lightroom/ACR. Flare resistance is nothing to write home about, but this isn't a lens you'd typically be pointing at the sun. AF is completely silent, so this should be fine for video, but the aperture mechanism is oddly very loud.
