ownership:I own this lens
compared to:minolta 70-210mm f4

vivitar 70-210mm f2.8
price paid:
positive:fast AF
sharp images
very nice build
IF, IZ, focus ring does not rotate during AF
negative:minimum focus distance?
comment:I only scored it a 4 for sharpness, and color. I only did that because i'm confident that the comparable minolta/sony models would be even better. So without grading on a scale, i would give it straight 5s. I wish it could focus closer, but that might slow down the focus speed. well, you could do, that and add a focus limiter. That would make it even better. My lens seems very sharp wide open, except for just near the tele end, where f.8 seems a tiny bit soft. But, i'll do it in a second if i need to.
