ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Beercan 70-210/4 and 70-210/3.5-4.5
price paid:$500
positive:Sharp, great bokeh, good colors, fast AF. Compact size.
negative:Heavy, but it is a 2.8 zoom. It can flare in some situations.
comment:I thought my beercan was a good 70-2x0 lens until I got this one. It is in a quite different league, much better in all aspects, unless weight. I also got the Sigma 1.4x and 2x TCs with it, and even with the 2x TC it is sharp and with decent focusing performance. With the 1.4x TC the AF is just as fast as without, and I can hardly see any reduced sharpens performance. Wide open at 2.8 it is not perfcectly sharp, but really usefull and sharper than the beercan at f4. I find the bokeh of this lens to be better than the beercan.
