Lacks stabilisation
comment:It seems almost redundant to mention it is a bit slow on the autofocus as this is a characteristic of all macro lenses.

In terms of optical performance, it is simply outstanding. The detail and colours the lens generates are superb.

Some things to note are that it extends while focusing, it includes an MF/AF switch on the barrel, and has 3 focus limiters. It also lacks stabilisation, which may not be an issue if you are shooting on a tripod or your camera has stabilisation.

Another quirk is that it is longer than it needs to be, as Sigma seems to have just added to the barrel length from their original Sigma 70mm ART macro. This accommodates the shorter flange distance of the E-mount without having to change the position of the lens elements in the barrel. Hence it might be a tighter squeeze in some camera bags.

Overall an excellent option at a much lower price than the Sony 90mm or Voigtlander 110mm.
