ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50 & 100 f2.8 macros
price paid:250 GBP
positive:Razor sharp
wonderful colours
well built
nice weight - gives the camera good balance
negative:Screw in hood.
Makes a lot of my other lenses look very ordinary.
comment:Very good macro and portrait lens.

Useful focal length.

The ratings say everything else - no CA, no distortion and very sharp even at f2.8. Noticeably sharper than the Minoltas at F2.8, but once stopped down it is difficult to split - they are all extremely sharp.

By the way, mine works fine on alpha 33, as does the 18-250 and my older 17-70
