comment:Very nice, good sharp lens. Nice range for macro shots, but unfortunate that it needs an adapter to achieve 1:1. I find the sharpness suffers with the 1:1 adapter, but that might be simply because I'm not sturdy enough to keep it still at the f/8-f/22 they recommend to get a workable DOF with it on. Colours seem very "Sigma", which isn't terrible, it's just not "Minolta".

For the price, I can't ask for more. This one came with the matched 1:1 adapter, a B+W Soft Focus filter, and a couple fog filters. I think my Minolta 50/2.8 took overall better photos, but I didn't so much care for the range. This makes for a much more usable macro, and a good portrait lens also.

Appears to have lots of purple fringing when wide open, but otherwise sharp. Perfect by f/4, if not sooner.
