ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta - AF 17-35 F3.5 G
Sony - AF DT 11-18 F4.5-5.6 D
price paid:698,00 €
positive:Amazingly focal range at the lower end of the scale. The design-related distortion is compensated by the automatic fix relatively easily, fixed aperture (F4.0), built in OSS, sharp!
negative:Nothing.
comment:Essential lens as part of my travel gear. The possibility of zooming allows precise framing eg in architecture and landscape. Not quite as good as the Minolta AF 17-35, but much better than the Sony DT 11-18!
Overall: Highly recommended!

Supplement:

Ideal combination with the new Sony E 3.5-5.6 / 18-135 mm OSS - focal lengths from 15 mm up to 405 mm with the lowest weight and reasonable image quality!
