positive: | Very useful reach. Constant f/4. Fast AF. Stopped down to f/5.6 good IQ. OSS works quit well. |
negative: | Distortion if not corrected. (Extreme) corners not tacksharp at f/4. Some flare under tricky conditions. |
comment: | Very useful WA zoom with constant f/4 diafragm. Not to bulky and lightweight. Fast and accurate AF. Often used for video in relativly small rooms. And a favourite companion for landscapes. |

positive: | Small, lightweight, OSS |
negative: | Soft wide-open |
comment: | I rented a copy of this lens to see if I would be happy selling my FE16-35 and then just carry the E10-18 and E18-105 lenses. This lens is a little soft wide open at all focal lengths. Best IQ is from 12-16mm; 18mm is the worst and 10mm is OK but not great. At 16 and 18mm, the FE16-35 and E18-105 are both better than this lens. At 12mm, if you stop down 2 stops, this zoom is as good as the Rokinon prime. My conclusion is, the selling points for this lens are its small size, light weigh, OSS, and decent IQ from 12-16mm when stopped down. |

positive: | One of the best performing zooms ever, small and light and great image quality. Still works well on full frame 14-16mm |
negative: | Nothing, It seemed expensive at first, but unlike some Sony zoom lenses, even Zeiss badged ones it really delivers. |
comment: | I love this lens, really good on my NEX7 and also works really well on my full frame Sony A7R. Excellent for landscape work and travelling light. |

positive: | Sharp, compact, OSS, very useful range. |
negative: | None so far. |
comment: | This is my second lens. I sold the first one because I was able to get a used 12mm Touit. Then I found out that I liked the zoom better, sold the Touit and bought a new zoom. It is less sharp in the corners wide open than the Touit (that's why I give it a 4.5 for sharpness. Because of the OSS it actually has better low-light performance. |

positive: | Small, light, sharp, great colours, great contrast, OSS. Can even be used full frame with some post correction. |
negative: | APS-C native. |
comment: | One of the best all round super wide angle zoom lenses that I have ever owned. Great little lens. A gem on the A6000 also. I still use this lens on my A7r3 on apse for travel as it is still the best for size and weight, it is however, as you might expect surpassed by the 16-35GM for overall image quality on full frame sensors. |

positive: | Solid build Nice and sharp all over from f8 Acceptably sharp even wide open Usable 12-15mm range on full frame with very minor vignetting OSS Constant f4 |
negative: | A bit soft in the corners wide open |
comment: | An excellent UWA zoom option for both APS-C and full frame, although technically it's not a full-frame lens. There's no other native E mount option for a UWA zoom, so the fact that this lens is very acceptable on full frame is a real bonus (I originally bought it for use with the NEX-6). Nice contrast and excellent color rendition. |

positive: | Amazingly focal range at the lower end of the scale. The design-related distortion is compensated by the automatic fix relatively easily, fixed aperture (F4.0), built in OSS, sharp! |
negative: | Nothing. |
comment: | Essential lens as part of my travel gear. The possibility of zooming allows precise framing eg in architecture and landscape. Not quite as good as the Minolta AF 17-35, but much better than the Sony DT 11-18! Overall: Highly recommended! Supplement: Ideal combination with the new Sony E 3.5-5.6 / 18-135 mm OSS - focal lengths from 15 mm up to 405 mm with the lowest weight and reasonable image quality! |

positive: | Nice and sharp Relatively distortion free for an ultra wide Lightweight Constant aperture Optical stabilisation |
negative: | Some coma A little on the large size (but still lightweight) Pricey for an aps-c lens. |
comment: | An excellent ultra wide angle. IQ is generally very good bordering on excellent. It's not as fast or sharp as the Tokina a mount lens but much light and is stabilised - the OSS us hardly essential on a wide angle but it's there and works well so I see it as a bonus... Blur free Handheld shots at 1/4 of a second are achievable with this lens. It's not a cheap lens but one I keep permanently on one of my nex cameras. |

positive: | Very good WA zoom for e-mount, Still better in the corners then the A-mount Sigma 10-20/4-5.6 and a KM 17-35/2.8-4 D on FF Constant f4 Nice contrasty and crisp images with pleasing color and rendering Haven't seen much flare while using the lens Distortion and vignetting easily corrected in Lightroom Usable on Full Frame from around 12/13 mm until 16 mm (but don't forget to take off the hood when using it that way) |
negative: | Quite big vs. most other e-moaunt lenses I have (especially the diameter) |
comment: | If you're into landscapes or wide angle cityscapes it's a very good lens, allthough not really cheap. But you get what you pay for, a very decent performer that will bring you many great pictures. |
