ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony Carl Zeiss 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS
Sony 18-105mm F4 G PZ OSS
price paid:637,00 €
positive:Very versatile focal length range, faster, quieter and more accurate AF, small and lightweight, short minimum focusing distance, OSS, 55 mm filter diameter, separate AF/MF-switch, does not consume as much power as the power zoom lens E PZ 18-105 mm G OSS.
negative:Nothing that bothers me. The existing distortion (especially in the WA-range) is effectively eliminated by the camera.
comment:Same with the mentioned comparison lenses. Better telephoto range and less distortion than the 18-105 mm G, better flare control than the 16-70 mm ZA. Surprisingly sharp over the entire focal length range! For me the ideal travel zoom, fits perfectly with the SWA-zoom 10-18 mm F4. I am very impressed of this small lens - highly recommended!
