ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony E 16-50
Sony E 55-210
price paid:NZ$400
positive:A very handy travel lens .
Not having to change lenses all the time
negative:A tad front heavy
comment:I bought this lens to replace the above 2 lenses as my travel combo on my wee Nex5T and I'm really glad I did. It is slightly heavier than than the other 2 combined but the convenience of only having one lens to carry around far out weighs any weight disadvantages.
Sure, it isn't the sharpest lens, being a jack of all trades, but is just as sharp as both the others and does a great job and I'm really pleased not to have the hassle of continually changing lenses all the time.
