ownership:I own this lens
compared to:DT 35mm 1.8
18-55 35.-5.6 OSS
Sigma 30mm 2.8 (1st version)
Tamron 17-50 f2.8
price paid:350 CDN used
positive:Small, sharp, OSS for video, excellent build quality.
negative:Nothing really, maybe a nicer/more suitable hood as this is the same hood as 18-55 kit.
comment:Great lens, very useful everyday focal length although it can still be a bit tight at times indoors.

When compared to Sigma 30, sharpness at same apertures was about the same. 35mm OSS had better flare control and was quiet when focusing. If your camera nails the focus, it is sharp in the central area even wide open. Stopping down to f/2.2 give a nice bump in sharpness and contrast.

Currently my most used lens, stays on the camera most of the time.
