comment:A clean but well-worn copy with original hood, caps, and packaging (white box). Wear is quite visible against the black anodized coating. Like the 20 F2.8 this lens is also not available in the silver finish. The regular retail price is $450 with occasional $400 sales. "Made in China"

On the A6000 it is equivalent to about 54 mm F2.8 on full-frame. There are no full-frame 5x mm lenses with optical image stabilization, but there are several stabilized full-frame 35 mm lenses.

This copy shows a directional glow on sharp edges that probably indicates an alignment issue much like many of the Sigma lenses I've returned. A better aligned copy would likely be sharper. I am going to generously rate this a 4. My copy of the Zeiss Touit 1.8/32 is much sharper.

The stabilization system seems to be quite effective, so even with the optical problems this copy seems to be a good choice for general use. The stabilization system makes faint ringing noises.

Focusing is quite fast. AF-C works fairly well across the frame though the A6000 still seems to choose focus targets in wide-area semi-randomly.

The much deeper circular ALC-SH116 hood from the E 50 F1.8 OSS fits and reverses on this lens and doesn't vignette. I am not sure why it comes with the little ALC-SH112 petal hood from the 18-55 OSS kit zoom instead.
