ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:Minolta 28 F2.8
Minolta 35 F2
Minolta 24 F2.8
SAL 16-50 SSM F2.8
price paid:249 EUR (new)
positive:Cheap, small, well built
49 mm filter (same a big brother and look alike Minolta 50 F1.7)
negative:Built-in hood
comment:Bought it to replace my minolta 28 when it wouldn't focus anymore. The SAL 28 F2.8 is an exact copy with modern glass coatings. Optically superior to my minolta copy. Adequate IQ but not stellar. Think my SAL 16-50 F2.8 shows a bit more class. AF prone to hunting on A700. Never had flare issues on APS-C or FF. Not my favourite lens now I use A99, (prefer M35F2 or M24F2.8). I decided to sell it to buy something more useful.
