comment:This is my new favourite prime.

I bought this lens used a couple of months ago and am very impressed. It replaced my 24-70CZ as the main lens on my camera and I love this lens.

I like to take a lot of available light shots, especially of the kids, indoors so I was attracted to it for its speed. When I got it and started to use it, I was in heaven.

It focuses fast (and apparently much faster on an a700) and the focal length (50mm equivalent) is great for taking shots indoors.

Yes, I wish it wasn't so expensive, but I do not consider that a negative. Quality costs and this lens IS quality.

The bokeh on this lens is wonderful. Just astounding.

One day, when the wife will let me, I wold love to get an a900 and see what this would do. FF wide angle with creamy bokeh……. yummy.
