positive: | Center is not sharp wide open. The entire frame is very sharp by 2.8 and beyond. By 5.6 and 8 it resolves an amazing amount of detail. Very pleasing OoF areas. This lens is small and light. Easy to carry and not obtrusive. The build is fine. The focus is smooth. There is a 'plasticky' feel, but it feels solidly made. Quick, silent focus. |
negative: | I'd like it to focus closer. Some chromatic aberration wide open, but disappears quickly. |
comment: | A great lens for daily use. Light and easy to carry around, it focuses quickly and accurately. Being a prime lens, it forces me to 'zoom with my feet', a nearly forgotten skill. I love playing with the limited DoF. This lens ought to be in any full frame kit. |
