|positive:||Center is not sharp wide open. The entire frame is very sharp by 2.8 and beyond. By 5.6 and 8 it resolves an amazing amount of detail.|
Very pleasing OoF areas.
This lens is small and light. Easy to carry and not obtrusive.
The build is fine. The focus is smooth. There is a 'plasticky' feel, but it feels solidly made.
Quick, silent focus.
|negative:||I'd like it to focus closer. Some chromatic aberration wide open, but disappears quickly.|
|comment:||A great lens for daily use. Light and easy to carry around, it focuses quickly and accurately. Being a prime lens, it forces me to 'zoom with my feet', a nearly forgotten skill. I love playing with the limited DoF.|
This lens ought to be in any full frame kit.
