ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50/1.7 (for panorama)
price paid:899NZD (new)
Very precise focus and incremental focus adjust.
range limit switch
focus lock/DOF preview button
negative:If you ignore price, there are none.
comment:As I only bought the lens today and I'm still experimenting with it and will update this post in due course.

I read the earlier review and note that the focus ring does have a small amount of play akin to the steering wheel response of my old mans 1964 HR Holden!!

BUT!! - After using the lens for the first time I've discovered that the "play" actually helps with fine manual focusing especially if you only want a very small increment of focus adjustment.

**Update 5/11/07**

Wow!! I love this lens, don't know why I held off getting it for so long. Great colour, very sharp.
