ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sigma 50/2.8 Macro DG EX
price paid:635 USD (new)
positive:Everything
negative:still couldn't find any
comment:Better built than Sigma 50/2.8 DG EX, better handling, more beautiful (that is important).
Sharpness is excellent.
Focus limiter is much better than Sigma's.
Color rendition is very accurate.

Further remarks: After extensive use, the manual focusing ring couldn't work on one side (from close to far), so tried to fix it myself. It came out that the outer ring for focusing is completely from rubbery-plastic. Anyway, I did fix it, and now works again brilliantly.
On a99, it's a joy. I finally got back to see through it as a 50mm and not a 75mm as in APS-C.
Don't hesitate in buying this lens.
