comment:I've used this lens for about three years now. At 2.8, it's the fastest lens in my bag so, in addition to macro work, I put it into general service from time to time in low light situations (and when swapping lenses means loosing the shot). I use it a lot when creating focus stacks and find the manual focus ring to be smooth and easy to adjust in very small increments. The front lens element is recessed too far inside the lens body for easy cleaning and, after 3 years, there are now imperfections in the coating on this element. I don't often use it in AF mode, but it seems to be accurate enough when I do. The 50mm focal length is less than I would like from time to time, but overall, I've been happy with my purchase.
