ownership:I own this lens
compared to:My Minolta 50mm f3.5 Macro
price paid:$490.00 used
positive:Very light considering performance.
Zeiss-like sharp throughout the zoom range.
Beautiful color rendition.
Mechanically smooth.
Lightening fast focus.
negative:You're kidding; right?
comment:I tested this lens against my Macro, which I thought could never be bested in sharpness, and the "G" won: Not by much, but it won. For the money paid, it was a steal. The "G" must stand for Godly. I would recommend this zoom to anyone looking for the best of class. The bokeh of this lens is absolutely gorgeous. It makes every photo pop.
