positive:- sharpness on 400 mm
- quick AF
- zoom range
negative:- to short ;-)
- poor build of hood
- limiter range could be better
comment:My main gun on airhows and diiferent aviation events. I've bought Minolta 300/2.8 to have better IQ than 70-400, but this lens at 2.8 wasn't as sharp as it can be read in net, so it was sold. On e-bay I've found auction with really cheap 400/4.5 - bought it, it have really good IQ at 400 mm (slightly better than 70-400), but AF speed (even with limiter in A77 II) for jet planes is not enough. I have many "misguided" photos in comparison to 70-400. So, it is my main airhows lens till now. I'm thinking about Mark II and/or Tamron 150-600.
