comment:This was my second venture into full frame lenses. In fact I bought this to pair with my SLT-68, but was disappointed by the results under some circumstances. The focus was just not pin sharp.
I went onto buy a used A850 and the results were immediately much better. Same MP, but the difference is the amount of light getting to the sensor.
I found that with some MFA on the APSC camera to a -5, the problems went away, so I can only assume it is the position of the sensors between the cameras.
As my SLT-58 does not have an MFA option, I cannot use it for that body.
This lens has totally changed my view on long reach zooms and is so much better than the 55-300 on APSC. The Minolta 75-300 will be given away or sold now.
If you want a fast long zoom lens and can find a used one, you will not regret it.
