ownership:I used to own this lens
compared to:Minolta AF 24-105 (D)
Minolta AF 28-85 Macro
Minolta AF 28-135 Macro
Sigma AF 17-70 DC Macro
Tamron AF 17-50/2.8 Di-II
price paid:£180.00 (used)
positive:Build quality
Focal range
negative:Minor barrel and pincushion distortion
comment:A very well constructed lens with an ideal focal range for APS-C cameras. It basically performs very well without being exemplary. IQ and colours are above average. It's a recommended option for those looking for a longer range kit lens replacement though I would still choose the Sigma AF 17-70 DC Macro over it even though used prices are around £30.00 apart.
