positive:Vastly better than the previous 18-70mm piece of crap Sony used to have as a kit lens.

Small, light.

Reasonably sharp, but with a 24M sensor, you will probably need to sharpen or shrink the image before you can look too closely.
negative:Not worth paying more than the s/h price to get it as a kit lens.

The lightness comes from being very plastic.

Very short rotation of the focus ring makes manual focusing harder.
comment:You could do as well as this by getting one of the old Minolta kit lenses, but it's very cheap, fits easily into a pocket or bag and if you lose it, so what?
