ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Tamron SP 90mm macro (55B)
price paid:£129
positive:Very sharp
Good contrast
No flare with infrared
Gives 1:1 reproduction
negative:Slightly noisy focus motor
Plasticky construction
Close working distance can cast a shaddow
comment:Surprised how sharp this lens is for the price. It has really unlocked the resolution of my 24MP sensor in A65. My old Tamron was manual focus and manual aperture control which was a bit of a hassel.
I have had no problems with central flare when using it for infrared photography.
great value for money.
