ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50mm f/1.7
Minolta 28-85mm f/3.5-4.5
Minolta 28-135mm f/4-4.5
price paid:199 USD (new)
positive:Good sharpness stopped down and even wide open. 1:1 Macro. Light weight.
negative:For the price, not much. Maybe a very small amount of CA in certain lighting conditions, but nothing major.
comment:Excellent focal length as a general purpose prime with macro ability. Sharp wide open and even better stopped down. This is a very versatile prime lens. On my A200 this makes for a fun walk-around setup that's lightweight and easy to use. I expected AF to be slow because it's a macro, but in use it's fairly quick. I think the SAM really benefits the AF. I've had this lens for a few months now and It's become one of my favorite pieces of glass! I now use it more than the 50mm f/1.7.
