ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50mm f1.7
Sony 18-70 kit lens
price paid:180 USD (new)
positive:Inexpensive
Sharp
Nice bokeh
negative:I worry about the build quality
A bit loud
comment:I would imagine that 30mm is a bit short for photographing insects and other things that might move, but I normally photograph plants & flowers, especially indoor plants. They don't move much. :)

It's also a nice lens for everyday use. Sharper than my zooms.

At the price, it's a steal.
