ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Minolta 50/1.7
CZ 16-80
Beercan
price paid:£169
positive:Very sharp, light weight, resistant to flare, good contrast
negative:it's built to a price, but having said that I've not had any actual cause for concern from the plastic build. Ask me in ten years time!

F2.8 gets you chromatic abberation in some circumstances.

SAM is not quiet!
comment:Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I'm sure that paying £4-500 for a macro lens would get some improvement in build, but as a value proposition this is excellent. My experience with this has put the upcoming 85/2.8 on my wishlist.
