comment:This is very sharp lens, at least my copy is. It does feel kind of cheap and plasticky, but I've used mine for several years and have had no problem. If I dropped it now, I'd probably buy another. The focal length is nice for portraits on a cropped sensor. I use it for the occasional portrait and for shooting flowers and artwork on a tripod. For flowers and artwork I use manual focus to achieve maximum sharpness, but the autofocus on my Sony a77 ii is almost as good. For the price and very good image quality, this lens is a real bargain, despite the cheap build.
