ownership:I own this lens
compared to:Sony 18-70
Tamron 17-50
price paid:140 EUR (new)
positive:Sharpness, contrast, flare resistance, bokeh, very light
negative:Build quality, noise from SAM motor
comment:Currently the lens I use the most. Sharpness is already nice at large apertures, and excellent at f/5.6. It produces nice colors with quite some contrast and it hardly shows flare. CA can show up at large apertures.
The build quality is not that good, but it doesn't feel like it will collapse any minute. One problem that I have is that the lens doesn't always goes back to infinity when shutting down the camera. Also the SAM motor makes an awful lot of noise.
However, for the price it is a very nice lens, and I have no intentions of selling it in the near future.
